Read this lovely peace by Isha Loona in celebration of World Hijab Day 2019:

"Dear Hijab,

You've broken me into a million pieces, and still managed to stitch me back together, to a more solid, even more sturdy me.

We've been through a lot. You've introduced me to the uglier sides of my personality, and helped me dismantle my ignorance.

I wore you out of free will, in order to demonstrate how I'm not oppressed and how you have not been enforced on me.

Since then, we've been on a rollercoaster together. In these 9 years of wearing you, every single day, I have learned a lot.

For me you are not just a scarf, you're my identity.

Without you, I would never had been the person I am today. Although I have hated you, I am proud of our journey together. I am proud of wearing you. I am proud of the person you've made me. I am proud of the hardships we've faced. Spiritually, mentally and physically. On the end of the road what matters is how far we've come.

On this special day, I want to show my gratitude and appreciation to every woman who wears the headscarf. Whether you wear it "full-time" or "part-time", you're amazing!

And you deserve to pat yourself on the back. In these times, it's not easy to be visibly muslim. My respects to every one of you. We're together in this 💪🏽 Thank you @arabesque.abayas for sponsoring this post. Happy World Hijab Day!
